The Mortgage Loan Closer will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate closing of mortgage loan transactions. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Loan Closing and Settlement
- Prepare and review loan closing documents, including the Closing Disclosure (CD) and HUD-1.
- Coordinate with settlement agents to ensure accurate and timely closing of loans.
- Verify that all charges and tolerances are met in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Loan Review and Quality Control
- Review loan files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may impact loan closing.
- Ensure that all loan documents are accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with internal partners, including underwriting, processing, and sales teams.
- Coordinate with settlement agents and other external parties to ensure smooth loan closing.
- Provide excellent customer service to borrowers and other stakeholders.
- Experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in mortgage banking, with a focus on loan closings.
- Skills
- Strong math skills and reconciliation skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Encompass and eClosings is a plus.
