Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your primary duties will include administering medications and injections, performing tube feedings, hanging IVs, collecting blood samples if certified for venipuncture, and providing colostomy care. You will also observe patients and report changes in their condition, take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, obtain specimens for analysis, and perform other medical procedures as ordered by a physician.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State or a Limited Permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State. Alternatively, candidates within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. It is essential to note that credentials will be reviewed at the time of interview, and questions regarding requirements for licensure and registration should be directed to the New York State Education Department.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is around $65,000-$80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
