Job Title: Railcar Blasters Technician

Job Summary:

1 Resource Group is seeking a skilled Railcar Blasters Technician to join our team. As a Railcar Blasters Technician, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to sand blast machines to clean and prepare railcars for coating.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate sand blast machines to clean and prepare railcars for coating.
  • Ensure all surfaces are clean and free of debris.
  • Operate equipment to blast according to specific SSPC and NACE standards or customer specifications.
  • Notify supervisors of needed repairs and maintain equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Read work orders to determine production specifications and information.
  • Reject defective products and readjust equipment to eliminate problems.
  • Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually or with hands to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas using moving equipment and hand tools.
  • Clean work areas and tend to accessory equipment such as pumps and conveyors.
  • Test samples of materials or products to ensure compliance with specifications using test equipment.
  • Load materials into machinery and equipment using hand tools.
  • Dislodge and clear jammed materials or other items from machinery and equipment using hand tools.

Requirements:

Skills:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time with limited breaks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and team lift up to 150 pounds.
  • Work in extreme temperatures and elements for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work at elevated heights.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend basic drawings and scope of work.
  • Must possess basic math skills, addition, subtraction.

Experience and Education:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); 2 years verifiable work experience. Must have Valid TWIC card, Basic Plus, confined space and Full Face Mask Scott AV 2000 and pass a physical.
