Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part Time Infant Room Teacher to join our team at First Baptist Child Development Center. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for infants in a daycare setting and a passion for education, care, and safety of children.

Responsibilities
  • Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
  • Sanitize toys and play equipment to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and communicate with parents or guardians.
  • Observe and monitor children's play activities to ensure their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Keep accurate records of individual children's progress, including daily observations and information about activities, meals, and medications.
  • Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
  • Engage children in activities that promote cognitive development, such as reading, painting, and handicrafts.
  • Organize and store toys and materials to maintain a tidy and organized activity area.
  • Dress children and change diapers as needed.
  • Maintain a safe play environment by ensuring proper supervision and equipment maintenance.
  • Communicate with parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues.
  • Assist in preparing food and serving meals and refreshments to children.
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans to promote children's growth and development.
  • Regulate children's rest periods to ensure they receive adequate sleep and rest.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with infants in a daycare setting.
  • Early Childhood training or education preferred but not required.
  • Pass a background check through the State of Tennessee.
  • Pass a random drug screen.
