Pediatric Acute Care Cardiology Job Summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Acute Care Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients with a wide range of congenital and acquired heart disease.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations, including psychological status assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate patient plans of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results.
  • Provide relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families, and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to improve clinical and system practice performance.
  • Participate in quality-related initiatives and apply evidence-based best practices to patient care.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in nursing, with completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program.
  • Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (CPNP-AC) by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
  • Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
