Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Coffee Roaster to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating all equipment in the Roasting Department, ensuring high-quality roasted coffee products. This is a full-time permanent role on night shift, operating from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am Monday through Thursday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Roast and blend coffees to specifications
• Follow blending procedures, learn safe operation of all equipment, roast terminology, roast levels, and cleaning maintenance of equipment
• Identify roasted and green coffees by sight, green and roasted defects, sample roasts to proper roast levels, and properly set up coffee tasting for evaluation
• Identify and describe cup characteristics of roasted coffee using standard cupping procedures
• Operate all equipment in the Roasting Department

About You:

• Good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use knowledge, creativity, and initiative in recommending or implementing improvements in efficiency or safety aspects of the work area or machines
• Excellent reading and writing skills
• Ability to calculate mathematical numbers for data entries on required process monitors, quality specifications, and use of computer for data entries
