As a Pharmacy Technician at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to our patients. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will perform a variety of tasks that support the daily operations of the pharmacy, including preparing and processing prescriptions, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and process prescriptions, including typing new prescriptions, processing refill prescriptions, and entering prescription data into the computer.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient information, medication lists, and inventory levels.
- Provide exceptional customer service, including answering phone calls, responding to patient inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Work effectively as a member of a team, collaborating with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Stay current on clinical initiatives and priorities, identifying opportunities to improve patient safety and outcomes.
- Completion of an approved pharmacy technician training program or equivalent.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (Washington) required at hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent walking and bending.
- One (1) plus year of Pharmacy Technician experience.
- Two (2) plus years of IV experience.
- Two (2) plus years of warehouse experience.
- Experience interacting with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians.
- Knowledge of managed care health systems and evidence-based medicine theories.
