We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phone Triage Nurse to join our team at Physicians Primary Care of Southwest Florida. As a Phone Triage Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of patient care by triaging daily patient phone calls and prioritizing tasks to meet the needs of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Triaging Patient Calls: Review daily provider-patient schedules with the clinical team to prioritize triage and ensure acute care needs are addressed in a timely manner.
- Medication Prior Authorizations: Perform medication prior authorizations to ensure patients receive the necessary care.
- Patient Education: Assist patients in scheduling preventative services and provide education as needed.
- Lab Results and Follow-up: Assist in contacting patients with abnormal lab/test results and schedule follow-up appointments as ordered by providers.
- General Nursing Care: Perform general nursing care to patients, administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards.
- A valid and current State of Florida license to Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately
- Ability to handle all calls in a professional and compassionate manner
- One year of clinical office experience or a combination of medical education and work experience
- CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire
