We are in search of skilled Service Technicians at various experience levels to be integral members of a dedicated team focused on maintaining the operational efficiency of our clients' distribution centers across the nation. This role is ideal for individuals who possess the expertise to tackle a range of technical challenges encountered in an industrial automation environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience with conveyor systems; however, those with a background in maintenance and repair of other industrial mechanical equipment will also be considered. Proficiency in reading schematics and wiring diagrams, along with the ability to learn and utilize specialized tools and meters, is essential. Clear communication skills are required to interact effectively with customers, service leads, and management.
Higher-level positions are available for candidates with advanced mechanical and electrical skills, as well as foundational knowledge of PLC and GDU systems. Leadership and supervisory experience will be highly regarded for these roles.
Importantly, all candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to adhering to safety regulations as mandated by OSHA and company policies. Compensation and responsibilities will be determined based on prior experience and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and programming issues related to distribution equipment, including conveyors and associated components.
• Execute daily tasks as directed by the Service Manager or Service Crew Leads to ensure timely maintenance and repair of equipment failures.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welders, and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
• Adhere to safety protocols while working around high and low voltage circuits.
• Employ electrical testing instruments, such as voltmeters and programming terminals, to assess panel components.
• Use mobile devices to communicate and document service activities.
• Maintain and organize company tools and materials.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area and field materials.
• Comply with the Company Code of Conduct and Safety Policies at all times.
• Welding skills using Arc or Mig processes are a significant advantage.
• Inspect and operate company service vehicles.
Qualifications:
• Full-time position requiring a 40+ hour work week.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to travel for extended periods as required.
• Flexibility to work early morning shifts when necessary.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must be able to respond to after-hours service calls when assigned, which may involve traveling to facilities during early morning hours.
• Local travel may be necessary to fulfill job duties.
• Capability to perform tasks while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in using various power tools, including grinders, saws, drills, and more.
• Experience with conveyor belt lacer and cutting tools is beneficial.
• Certification or ability to become certified in operating forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other heavy equipment as needed.
• Participation in safety programs and training is expected.
• Familiarity with mobile devices for communication and documentation is required.
• Personal toolset for repairs is necessary (tool list available).
