Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. As a key member of our nursing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth transition of patients through our healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient placement activities to optimize patient flow, patient outcomes, admission appropriateness, and cost efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with campus house supervisors, physicians, and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Communicate and collaborate with leaders and staff at external organizations/agencies regarding placement needs for whole childcare.
  • Maintain assigned databases and collect, analyze, and interpret outcome data systematically to identify problem areas and assess need for improvement.
  • Support continuous performance and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in nursing with 2 years of experience in critical care or emergency nursing with advanced clinical assessment skills.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Experience in progressive leadership and training as house supervisor or bed placement coordinator.
  • Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health.
  • Experience in a medical inpatient/emergency department setting working with pediatric and adolescent patient populations.
  • Experience with behavioral mental health (BMH) facilities and placement procedures.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Certified Case Manager (CCM) or Psychiatric Mental Health (PMH-BC) Certification (current or within 2 years of hire).
