About the RoleLumen is a leading provider of innovative solutions that connect people, data, and applications. We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Analyst - Indirect Tax Specialist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and submit indirect tax returns for North America and EMEA regions, including VAT, HST, GST, and PST.
- Support other indirect tax compliance across Europe, Canada, and APAC.
- Work with and prepare data for outsourced indirect tax compliance processes.
- Assist stakeholders on local operational requirements that require indirect tax positions.
- Take the lead on tax support for customer care and sales teams, involving tax inquiries and estimates on sales.
- Prepare and review tax account reconciliations for indirect tax accounts.
- Assist the team in supporting tax and revenue reporting requirements for ERP upgrades and testing support for new tax data warehouses.
- Handle tax notices and inquiries from European tax authorities.
- Identify initiatives to create efficiencies and cost savings by improving systems or methods within and outside the Tax Department.
- Research and stay up-to-date on changes in local tax and regional tax laws, and help implement legislative, tax, and judicial developments to ensure tax policy is in accordance with the law.
- Work on projects and ad-hoc assignments as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with an Accounting degree preferred.
- Strong technical working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems, Vertex, and billing systems.
- Technical knowledge of indirect tax/VAT.
- Minimum 3 years indirect tax experience or equivalent in training and education (e.g., Chartered Accountant, CPA, or Master's in Tax).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks.
- Chartered Accountant, CTA, CPA, or Master's Degree in Taxation.
- Familiarity with indirect taxation/VAT in the telecommunications industry.
- Proficient computer-related skills (e.g., Excel, Alteryx, Power BI, etc.).
