About the Role
InAlliance is seeking an experienced and motivated Independent Living Skills Instructor to join our team. As an ILS Instructor, you will provide case management, instruction, and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them develop the skills necessary to live independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized instruction and support based on participants' needs and goals.
- Develop and conduct creative, engaging activities tailored to each participant's learning styles and needs.
- Use various instructional techniques and resources to promote independence.
- Assist with assessments through information gathering and observation.
- Help develop individualized plans based on participant preferences, needs, and interests.
- Collaborate with outside agencies on available resources.
- Stay organized and manage weekly schedules based on participant needs.
- Maintain accurate records and complete paperwork promptly, according to assignments and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external parties.
- Maintain ongoing communication with each participant's circle of support.
- Flexibility and ability to accommodate changes to caseload and scheduling.
- Facilitate participant meetings.
Requirements
- At least two years of direct instructional experience with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), preferably in an inclusive and integrated setting.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
