Pharmacy Technician

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and customer service. Our pharmacy technicians are the face of our company, interacting with customers and developing strong relationships with our patients.

Our Pharmacy Technician Training Program is recognized by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Department of Labor, and provides a comprehensive and structured approach to learning the skills and knowledge required to become a certified pharmacy technician.

• Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Process prescriptions, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
• Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues.
• Develop strong relationships with customers and patients, and provide personalized service to meet their needs.
• Assist with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
• Participate in training and development programs to maintain knowledge and skills in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
