  • Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging examinations using ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment of patients in a safe and timely manner, as ordered by physicians.
  • Follow physicians' orders precisely, maintaining a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure, and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, their patients, and their co-workers from unnecessary exposure.
  • Obtain patient history, explain the procedure, gain consent for contrast material administration, and address any patient concerns prior to beginning the procedure.
  • Perform all necessary checks for accuracy of the prescription, precertification/authorization if required by individual insurance companies, Soarian order, and patient information.
  • Compile and review images, provide applicable comparison studies, and prepare documentation for quality control testing as required.
  • Clean, adjust, and perform routine maintenance on equipment; stock and replenish supplies as required.
  • Proficiency in departmental and hospital information technologies such as RIS, PACS, Soarian, and job-specific related areas.
Credentials and Education
  • Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program resulting in a two-year certificate and/or associate degree (Equivalent Experience)
