Job OverviewPosition Summary

ROLE SUMMARY: A vital contributor to the maternity care team, responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in delivering care to obstetric patients by executing assigned tasks that ensure fundamental nursing support and aid during surgical procedures.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Completion of high school education or equivalent.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Current BLS certification is mandatory.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Successful completion of a competency-based skills assessment.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Preferred one year of experience as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a Nursing Assistant program within the last year. Two years of experience in a hospital setting is advantageous.

SUPERVISORY STRUCTURE:

-Reports to: Manager of Women's Services

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

- Exposure to Bloodborne pathogens

Work hours may vary. Engages in multiple concurrent tasks related to patient care. Potential exposure to infectious agents and radiation. Subject to unpredictable circumstances.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to manage emergency situations effectively. Requires prolonged periods of standing and walking. Knowledge of and adherence to proper body mechanics is essential. Occasionally responsible for lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients or medical equipment. Must possess normal hearing and visual acuity. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are necessary.
