Key Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing, Minnesota, is in search of a full-time general Orthopedic Surgeon (1.0 FTE) to become part of a highly esteemed, physician-led multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will focus on general orthopedic surgery and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering a comprehensive range of orthopedic services.

This position offers the opportunity to integrate into a well-established and flourishing orthopedic surgery practice, with the potential for growth in a community-focused environment. We seek a candidate who is eager to provide a wide variety of general orthopedic surgical options, from managing acute musculoskeletal injuries with both operative and non-operative care to performing total joint replacements across various types.

The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of general and specialty-trained orthopedic surgeons in Southeastern Minnesota, practicing within a structured level 4 trauma center. Our dedicated team of surgeons, physician assistants, nurses, radiology staff, rehabilitation specialists, pain management professionals, and operating room personnel create a secure and welcoming atmosphere for our patients. An excellent work/life balance is achievable, with shared trauma call responsibilities among orthopedic partners.

Red Wing serves as a central location, with outreach and support extending to surrounding areas. Additionally, there is easy access to regional centers for complex cases, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients.

Qualified candidates may have the opportunity for an academic appointment with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, if desired.

Practice Highlights:

  • Strong Emergency Department capable of managing fractures and dislocations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Minnesota.
  • Medical staff will oversee advanced practice clinicians.
  • Teaching clinical staff, students, or residents is a fundamental aspect of our Medical Education philosophy.
