Position: Commercial HVAC Service Technician
Department: Service Division
Reports to: Service Field Manager
Compensation: Hourly wage based on experience
Job Overview:
The Commercial HVAC Service Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repair services on various HVAC systems for commercial clients. This role requires a commitment to professionalism and adherence to safety standards while representing EMCOR Government Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a valid driver's license and meet all physical requirements necessary for job duties.
- Possess EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (preferred).
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions as required by company policy.
- Report to work punctually to receive daily assignments from the dispatcher.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and testing on contract equipment.
- Utilize measuring and testing equipment for maintenance tasks.
- Document and communicate any repairs or diagnostics needed to the dispatcher.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including check sheets and time cards.
- Adhere to safety protocols to protect oneself and company property.
- Maintain communication with the dispatch manager and Service Field Manager regarding schedules and information needs.
- Ensure company vehicle is maintained according to company standards.
- Follow directives from Service Field Leadership.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Restock vehicle with necessary parts and supplies.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills.
- Develop effective communication skills for both oral and written interactions.
- Respond to after-hours maintenance calls as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. and perform physical tasks on job sites.
- Load and unload materials and equipment for projects.
- Climb ladders and operate aerial lifts as required.
- Familiarity with safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Work in various environmental conditions, from outdoor settings to indoor facilities.
Qualifications:
- 7 to 10 years of experience in light or heavy commercial HVAC for Level 3.
- 10+ years of experience in light or heavy commercial HVAC for Level 4.
