Position Overview
Veliz Construction is in search of a Site Operations Manager who is prepared to thrive in a challenging and dynamic construction atmosphere. We are looking for a proactive individual who possesses a strong enthusiasm for the construction field and a commitment to professional development within our organization. The perfect candidate will have substantial experience in the construction sector and exhibit qualities such as organization, motivation, attention to detail, and determination. We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Plan Percent Complete (PPC) and Two Week Look Ahead schedules.
- Facilitate and lead LEAN construction Pull Sessions with subcontractors.
- Engage effectively with clients, teams, and other stakeholders to foster a positive project atmosphere and ensure an outstanding client experience.
- Conduct meetings with field personnel and subcontractors to inform, coordinate, and direct operations.
- Maintain daily records of constructability challenges, potential design conflicts, and clarifications with relevant personnel.
- Participate in the pre-job planning phase and collaborate with clients and project managers.
- Monitor and evaluate project budgets while maintaining precise project cost documentation.
- Become thoroughly acquainted with project plans, specifications, shop drawings, and all related documents.
- Procure and ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment on-site.
- Provide leadership and direction to field personnel and subcontractors. Plan, review, develop, and manage the project team to ensure effective execution of the project.
- Identify, comprehend, and actively manage project inefficiencies and risks.
- Inspect the work of field personnel and subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with the general superintendent to meet field personnel requirements.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including documentation of crew member discipline, site-specific quality control plans, and Lean onboarding.
- Promote awareness and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining an accident-free workplace.
- Submit accurate and timely crew member timesheets and field receipts from vendors and/or subcontractors.
- Attend branch operation meetings as necessary.
- Ensure the job site is maintained in a clean, safe, and secure condition at all times.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of demonstrated and successful experience in the construction industry is essential.
- Experience in interior renovations is required.
- Strong understanding of construction principles and practices is necessary.
- Experience working with federal clients is preferred.
- This role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
- Experience in directing and coordinating subcontractors is essential.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities are required.
- Able to learn and apply Lean Construction principles and methodologies.
- OSHA 30 certification is mandatory.
- This position may require some travel.
