About the Role:

Fresh Thyme Market is seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team. As a key member of our Retail Meat Department, you will be responsible for maintaining high-quality standards in our meat department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Stock and rotate meat products, ensuring accurate pricing and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and assisting with purchases.
  • Operate equipment such as knives, scales, and wrappers, following proper procedures.
  • Cut, package, and label meat products according to Fresh Thyme's quality standards.
  • Prioritize tasks, multitasking to meet deadlines and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Develop expertise in product knowledge, preparation, and presentation.
  • Sustain a high level of customer satisfaction through friendly demeanor and approachability.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a retail environment, preferably in meat cutting.
  • Prior experience in a natural foods industry is an asset.
  • Journeyman cutter certification or apprenticeship program completion is preferred.

Educational Background:

A high school diploma or equivalency degree is required. A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred.

Salary Estimate:

We offer a competitive salary, estimated to be around $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we provide comprehensive benefits, including paid parental leave, scheduling flexibility, and opportunities for career growth.
