Position Summary: The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining key systems and components of on-highway trucks and associated equipment.   • Diagnoses and troubleshoots engine malfunctions under supervision.
  • Performs repairs on engines and related equipment for trucks and trailers with guidance.
  • Utilizes computer systems and diagnostic software for engine reprogramming and troubleshooting.
  • Documents service reports, timecards, and parts requisitions accurately.
  • Interprets information from maintenance manuals and online resources effectively.
  • Operates vehicles and equipment while holding the necessary licenses and certifications.
  • Follows contamination control and HAZMAT regulations diligently.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a clean and functional state.
  • Communicates progress on tasks to supervisors and clients as necessary.
  • Works overtime when required by workload demands.
  • Exhibits professionalism in interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Completes all required training and safety courses.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures consistently.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical training is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in on-highway truck service is required.
  • CDL – Class A or B is preferred.
  • ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification is a plus.

Travel Requirements:

  • Limited travel may be necessary for training or support during busy periods.

Physical Demands:

  • Position requires standing for extended periods and frequent movement.
  • Manual dexterity is essential for using tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional kneeling, crouching, and climbing may be required.

Work Environment:

  • Work is primarily indoors around mechanical equipment.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions may occur during outdoor tasks.
  • Safety equipment must be worn as required.
