Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots engine malfunctions under supervision.
- Performs repairs on engines and related equipment for trucks and trailers with guidance.
- Utilizes computer systems and diagnostic software for engine reprogramming and troubleshooting.
- Documents service reports, timecards, and parts requisitions accurately.
- Interprets information from maintenance manuals and online resources effectively.
- Operates vehicles and equipment while holding the necessary licenses and certifications.
- Follows contamination control and HAZMAT regulations diligently.
- Maintains tools and equipment in a clean and functional state.
- Communicates progress on tasks to supervisors and clients as necessary.
- Works overtime when required by workload demands.
- Exhibits professionalism in interactions with customers and colleagues.
- Completes all required training and safety courses.
- Adheres to safety policies and procedures consistently.
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Technical training is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in on-highway truck service is required.
- CDL – Class A or B is preferred.
- ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
- Limited travel may be necessary for training or support during busy periods.
Physical Demands:
- Position requires standing for extended periods and frequent movement.
- Manual dexterity is essential for using tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional kneeling, crouching, and climbing may be required.
Work Environment:
- Work is primarily indoors around mechanical equipment.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions may occur during outdoor tasks.
- Safety equipment must be worn as required.
