La-Z-Boy Home Furnishings & Décor is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and proactive Sales Consultant to enhance our retail operations. As a Certified Sales Consultant, your primary role will be to deliver outstanding customer service, foster relationships with clients, and identify new sales avenues. You will be expected to assess customer requirements, provide insightful product knowledge, and adeptly guide clients towards making informed purchases.
We value initiative, strong communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with customers. If you possess a passion for sales and enjoy engaging with people, this role is tailored for you. Our average certified sales consultants earn over $55,000 annually, with top achievers exceeding $70,000 annually. Importantly, there is no limit on your commission earnings.
Your initial two weeks will be dedicated to comprehensive training at our Education Center, where you will gain extensive product knowledge and learn essential processes. Additionally, our Sales Consultants enjoy a competitive benefits package that includes:
- HOURLY TRAINING RATE for the first six months of employment
- No cap on earned commissions

Key Responsibilities:
- Master our established selling techniques to fulfill customer needs.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with existing and prospective customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Participate in impactful sales events.
- Collaborate with our Interior Designer and assist with our Complimentary Design Services.
- Provide customers with comprehensive product knowledge.
- Handle customer orders and payments, ensuring complete satisfaction.
- Create a welcoming in-store experience for all customers.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Associate degree in business or two years of retail sales experience.
- Business casual attire is required.
- Demonstrated history of achieving and surpassing sales targets.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Foster a client development mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Availability to work a consistent schedule, including weekends and most holidays.
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
