Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at Texas Health Resources. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the highest quality of patient care, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the work schedules and personnel assignments for the laboratory team.
  • Delegate employee responsibilities as needed and monitor overtime usage.
  • Assist in the investigation of corrected and situation reports, and inform the supervisor of any situations that require counseling of employees.
  • Complete employee performance appraisals within the designated time frame and participate in interviewing and hiring processes.
  • Perform daily reviews of results from the laboratory and display good judgment in recognizing and addressing crisis situations.
  • Develop and coordinate departmental projects and assign tasks when workload allows.
  • Coordinate the evaluation of new techniques and procedures in the laboratory, including equipment, space, method comparison, establishment of reference values, and related statistical analysis.
  • Write and revise technical procedures and assist in the investigation of corrected and situation reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience under the direction of an MT or Medical Director or Pathologist.
  • 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
  • ASHI certification highly preferred.
  • MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist, CT(ASCP) - Cytotechnologist, HTL(ASCP) - Histotechnologist, MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist, SCT(ASCP) - Specialist in Cytotechnology, or other equivalent certifications required.
