Overview
Centerpoint Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care team. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will provide high-quality patient-centered care, collaborating with medical providers to deliver exceptional outcomes.
About the Unit
- Our 36-bed Progressive Care unit is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for nights.
- We care for a variety of patients, including those with trauma, stroke, post-cath lab stint or STEMI, drips, and more.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
- Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
Requirements
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse with Associate Degree or Registered Nurse Diploma.
