About the Role

Pacific Rail Services is seeking a skilled Rail Terminal Container Chassis Trailer Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail terminal equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and analyze malfunctions in rail terminal equipment, including chassis and trailers.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Replace suspension components and landing legs as needed.
  • Make repairs and document them for future reference.
  • Patch and weld containers as required.
  • Change tires and perform air brake inspections and repairs.
  • Supply your own basic tools.
Requirements
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work safely and efficiently.
  • Minimum of 1 year's mechanical experience (preferred but not required) to get certified for FMCSA inspections.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented with strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Hostler (yard jockey) experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of shop equipment.
