The Senior Project Manager for Electrical Construction plays a pivotal role in the comprehensive management, organization, and execution of substantial and intricate electrical construction initiatives. This position also involves overseeing and guiding junior project managers.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 12 Years of experience in Construction Management or Program Management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline (Preferred in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering).
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage large-scale projects, encompassing construction methodologies, engineering principles, resource allocation, cost estimation, equipment handling, material procurement, contract management, subcontractor oversight, claims negotiation, project controls, financial management, and resource efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing small to medium-sized projects, managing teams of 10 to 40 personnel.
  • Engaging with senior management, supervisory staff, clients, contractors, and design professionals to address and resolve issues related to work processes, grievances, and construction challenges.
  • Developing project schedules in a logical sequence to allocate sufficient time for meeting deadlines.
  • Assessing labor needs and assigning workers to construction sites.
  • Planning, organizing, and directing activities related to the construction and upkeep of structures, facilities, and systems.
  • Interpreting and clarifying plans and contract terms for administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Managing client relationships and negotiating amendments to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring the overall Safety, Quality, and productivity of individual Task Orders.
  • Supervising and directing workers, including delegating responsibilities to Foremen and Technicians to prepare them for advancement.
  • Monitoring project budgets to ensure positive cash flow and maintain profitability.
  • Conducting inspections and reviews of projects to ensure compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to ensure design efficiency.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and statements of work (SOW).
  • Coordinating with field personnel and/or the engineering team to address potential installation challenges.
  • Suggesting process enhancements and cost-saving strategies.
  • Planning and actively tracking work to ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
  • Overseeing the submission and accuracy of organized and detailed project records.
  • Communicating with customers to provide updates on project status and address any concerns.
Specific Position Requirements:
  • 12-15 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics from an ABET accredited program; or 9-11 years of experience with a Master's degree; or 7-8 years of experience with a Ph.D.
  • Experience with management systems related to scheduling, job cost reporting, estimating, safety, documentation, and quality control.
  • Experience in overseeing and approving monthly job cost updates, productivity reports, and quarterly cash flow forecasts.
  • Providing monthly customer reporting as specified for each task order.
  • Proficiency in the Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling technique and General Contractor Schedules.
  • A proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget.
  • Reliable attendance for regular meetings as required by the customer.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Familiarity with Accubid Estimating (or equivalent) related to Electrical Installations is preferred.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 CPM Scheduling (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to various Task Order locations as necessary.
Required Abilities:
  • Ability to work on computer screens for extended periods.

  • Manual dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers.
