Job Summary:

Integrated Resources seeks a skilled Central Processing Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Sterile Processing department, you will be responsible for assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and storing procedure trays, surgical trays, and equipment. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will ensure the highest level of quality and efficiency in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, clean, disinfect, sterilize, and store procedure trays, surgical trays, and equipment.
  • Operate and monitor sterilization equipment.
  • Disassemble carts and follow Universal Precautions for decontamination.
  • Sterilize, disinfect durable medical equipment and instruments, package clean supplies and instruments, and maintain records for all instruments.
  • Assemble sterilized instruments and recheck all instruments for cleanliness and/or impairment.
  • Communicate equipment and instrument inventory status with the Central Processing staff and Surgery Charge Nurse.
  • Respond to emergency situations by ensuring all emergency, trauma, and add-on cases are supplied properly and delivered to the Operating Room in a timely manner.
  • Utilize applications and technology to accurately facilitate record keeping in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Provide on-the-job training to newly hired associates in the department.
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of Integrated Resources and abide by service behavior standards.


Requirements:

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.
  • Experience and understanding in the use of computers, as well as the ability to learn software relevant to Sterile Processing.
  • Ability to successfully function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hospital or clinic operating room.
