Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the North Florida/South Georgia Perry VA Healthcare System. As a Licensed Independent Provider, you will practice autonomously and in coordination with health care professionals and other individuals to provide high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a wide range of health care services, including diagnosis and management of acute, chronic, and complex health problems, health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and counseling to individuals, families, groups, and communities.
  • Obtain and evaluate medical histories, perform physical examinations, perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and order laboratory studies, radiographs, electrocardiograms, and other special examinations.
  • Make arrangements for further care if appropriate and serve as a consultant to other providers.
  • Work collaboratively with all levels of staff, including trainees, and a multidisciplinary staff in a fast-paced educational and collegial environment.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based nursing protocols and organize educational activities targeted toward staff training and development.
  • Document notes according to policy/procedure utilizing a Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) in a personal computer.
  • Screen patients to determine need for further care.
  • Routine and Preventive Women Healthcare.
  • Tele Health when required.
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must possess and maintain full and current board certification as a NP in Family.
  • Must have a post-master's certificate or master's or doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner from a school of professional nursing.
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted APN license to practice as a NP in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a primary-care setting is preferred.
Work Schedule

Tuesday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
