Compensation Range : $48,000 – $53,000 (additional $400 for each full year of service with Albany County, up to three years, totaling $1,200)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient nursing care requirements and develop and implement a nursing care strategy;
  • Provide professional nursing services in a TB health clinic and conduct follow-ups on treatment and assessments for patients and their families;
  • Oversee sub-professional nursing staff;
  • Monitor symptoms and execute diagnostic procedures as directed by the physician;
  • Prepare and apply dressings, administer medications, and provide nursing and therapeutic treatments as prescribed;
  • Educate patients and their families regarding dietary needs, health practices, home treatment procedures, and rehabilitative measures as authorized;
  • Deliver related services to promote illness prevention and achieve optimal health;
  • Liaise with relevant social services or health agencies to ensure patients receive necessary services or follow-up care;
  • Maintain comprehensive records and generate reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of a nursing program accredited by the State Education Department, qualifying for Registered Professional Nurse.

Special Requirement:

Eligibility for licensure by the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse, with possession of the license at the time of appointment.
