PACS/RIS Administrator

Job Summary

The Children's Hospital Of The King's Daughters seeks a highly skilled PACS/RIS Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our radiology information systems. This individual will be responsible for managing and maintaining our PACS and associated systems, including DICOM and RIS. The successful candidate will have excellent technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain PACS and associated systems, including DICOM and RIS
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Implement and maintain system security, backups, and disaster recovery plans
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to PACS and imaging systems
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to PACS and imaging systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate system changes and enhancements
• Extrapolate data and produce reports to evaluate and monitor radiology operations

Requirements

• Associates Degree in a related field, Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 3-5 years of clinical information systems, clinical engineering, or clinical operations experience
• Knowledge of PACS and other radiology and registration hardware and software applications
• Project management and leadership skills
• Excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like. Frequent exposure to communicable disease and moderately adverse working conditions due to performance of certain patient care activities.
