We are seeking a skilled Vocational Nurse to join our team at UTMB Health. As a Vocational Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in a correctional setting, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, including administering medications and treatments, and performing various diagnostic or treatment procedures.
- Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care given, working closely with the patient care team to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Document nursing care in patient records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress and care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, ensuring that patient needs are met and exceeded.
- Adhere to infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques in the delivery of patient care, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS-HP certification required.
- No experience required, but recent graduates with temporary permits will be considered.
