As an Operating Room Nurse, you will be responsible for circulating in the operating room and assisting surgeons with advanced tasks and equipment during surgical procedures. This role demands the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
Key Duties- Prepare for surgical procedures by assessing patients and reviewing their medical history, diagnostics, and lab results. Report any abnormalities to the appropriate medical staff.
- Develop and initiate patient care plans based on individual needs and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Ensure the operating room is adequately stocked and prepared for procedures, troubleshooting any equipment issues as necessary.
- Document all surgical procedures accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to organizational policies.
- Maintain aseptic technique and safety protocols throughout all surgical procedures.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new surgical staff and students as needed.
Minimum Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Minimum Experience: One year of operating room experience in an acute care setting
Preferred Experience: One year in a Level 1 trauma operating room setting
Required Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license in the state of practice, BLS certification, ACLS certification
Hours per week: 36 hours
On-call Requirement: Yes
