JOB SUMMARY: The Equipment Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for the systematic upkeep of all machinery on-site. This critical role involves regular maintenance and care of production equipment to ensure optimal functionality, playing a vital part in preventative maintenance efforts to maintain seamless production flow with reduced risk of equipment failures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the operational efficiency of machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Manage inventory of equipment, parts, and maintenance supplies by regularly assessing stock levels.
  • Proactively identify required equipment and supplies; place orders and confirm accuracy upon delivery.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs.
  • Recommend enhancements for plant and equipment to improve reliability and availability.
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments of maintenance activities in collaboration with engineers, operators, and EHS personnel, providing insights on maintenance trends and failure causes.
  • Develop schedules and checklists to ensure daily equipment functionality.
  • Maintain accurate records in our software system to track equipment depreciation.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in machinery maintenance.
  • Forklift certification is mandatory.
  • Technical training is preferred, with NITEC or vocational certification in a relevant field (mechanical/electrical/chemical).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems related to gas, diesel, and natural gas engines is highly desirable.
  • Experience in performing preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Basic understanding of fabrication, welding, and machining processes is required.
  • Familiarity with the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System is essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and specifications.
  • Capable of safely operating hand tools with minimal supervision.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
