Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter to join our Austin, Texas, Civil Engineering Group as a Senior Project Manager. Our project managers do it all - provide professional and project management expertise in the direction of highly unconventional projects requiring multiple technical units and/or subconsultants, heavy regulatory agency involvement, or extremely complex technical requirements.

As a Senior Project Manager at AtkinsRéalis, you will function as a mentor to project managers and technical professionals to assist in their training and development. You will also perform the basic project functions of production supervising the design of site plans, grading plans, public streets, utilities, and stormwater controls.

Our project managers work on local, state and federal projects that include small, medium and large sites, design-bid-build, and design-build projects. They work on, and may travel to, federal projects throughout North America, as well as Europe and the Middle East. They also work with other civil engineering groups in numerous offices across the US.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subconsultants, and draft very complex professional service agreements, arranging for their review and execution by senior management.
  • Direct project team compliance with contract terms, monitor subcontractors' progress, performance and compliance with contractual commitments; participate in contract dispute resolution and litigation concerning project performance, administration and other liability issues;
  • Develop, communicate and manage project quality assurance, administrative procedures, communication guidelines, project deliverable formats and specifications, and progress reporting requirements.
  • Monitor schedules, billings and reports; ensure appropriate charging of manhours, costs and expenses to projects; assist in obtaining payment from clients; resolve client disputes and adjust billing records as required;
  • Identify new business opportunities for the firm, coordinate and participate in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promote firm's capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients.
Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
  • Ten to twenty years of experience with a minimum of 4 years as a project manager.
