Job Summary:

The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care, instruct patients and family members, and participate in program development and education activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of physical therapy procedures and techniques, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care using standard physical therapy procedures
  • Instruct patients and family members on therapeutic exercises, transfers, and gait training
  • Assist Physical Therapist in patient evaluation and assessment of functional skills
  • Participate in program development and education activities, including chart rounds and team development conferences
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Supervise and instruct students, volunteers, and other healthcare professionals as needed
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapy or related field
  • Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Michigan
  • One year of experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
