Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at The RMR Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical integrity of our properties, providing a safe and secure living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on all equipment as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager.
  • Inspect and maintain all tools in excellent condition.
  • Diagnose and perform minor or routine maintenance or repair, involving electrical and plumbing, A/C and heating systems, appliances, water irrigation systems, and other essential systems.
  • Perform work area clean-up and safety-related duties.
  • Ensure that storage areas remain locked when not in use.
  • Assist in making-ready repairs and services, and coordinate with make-ready staff to meet deadlines.
  • Report all major repairs and need requisitions to the Maintenance Supervisor prior to any expenditure of funds.
  • Change locks, rekey locks, and make keys as required.
  • Remove and transfer heavy appliances and equipment from storage to apartments (or vice versa) as circumstances warrant.
Requirements
  • High level of proficiency in written, verbal, and arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to plan and juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess solid knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other essential systems.
  • Current certifications in EPA, CPO, and HVAC.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in property management.
  • High School Diploma required, College preferred.
Work Environment

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, or commercial vehicles. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, except when working on items outside of the office environment.
