NICU Transport Nurse

The NICU Transport Nurse will provide safe and effective inter-hospital transport of a wide variety of pediatric patients. This role requires the ability to assess, stabilize, and provide diagnostic and therapeutic interventions while on transport. Transports may take place using a ground ambulance, helicopter, or fixed-wing air transport.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and stabilize patients on arrival at the referring hospital and throughout transport
- Anticipate and prepare for potential problems during transport
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Collaborate with the Neonatal Transport Team to ensure optimal use of resources
- Participate in performance improvement projects and contribute to a positive work environment
- 3 years of progressive nursing experience
- 2 years of experience in neonatal critical care, pediatric critical care, or pediatric emergency care
- Ability to perform accurate medication dosing calculations under time-sensitive situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain skills and proficiency with information technology
- Certification in Neonatal Nursing
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Anticipate and respond to customer needs
- Demonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior
- Contribute to a positive work environment
- Use resources efficiently
