Job Summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a PRN basis. As a critical care specialist, you will provide high-quality patient-centered care to patients in various settings, including emergency departments, acute care inpatient units, and intensive care units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide invasive and non-invasive ventilation management to patients in critical care settings
  • Implement evidence-based patient-driven protocol pathways to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Utilize critical thinking and time management skills to prioritize patient care and manage multiple patients simultaneously
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including RNs, LPNs, PCNAs, nurse interns, providers, social workers, PT/OT, speech therapy, and dieticians
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
  • Possess and maintain an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Active Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license from the Ohio Medical Board
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification
  • Reliable transportation to travel to other MetroHealth facilities as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience as a RRT in a critical care environment
  • Extensive experience with mechanical ventilation, airway management, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Possess a Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA
  • Possess an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from the AHA
