Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment and facilities. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical tasks, from routine maintenance to complex repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on plant equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement preventative maintenance projects.
  • Conduct millwright assignments, including bearing replacement, equipment alignment, and inspection and repair of power transmission systems.
  • Perform welding and cutting tasks, such as fabrication of plant equipment and structures, and repair of worn process equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain lubrication systems for mechanical equipment, record data, and take lab samples as required.
  • Operate mobile equipment to assist with completing maintenance duties.
  • Perform plumbing inspections and repairs on plant equipment and facilities.
  • Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations, and wear proper safety equipment at all times.
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior mechanical experience, welding experience, training, or certification required.
  • Prior plant maintenance mechanic experience a plus.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.
Working Conditions
  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and working outdoors.
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the location.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to perform all job functions, including walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing, and/or pulling of controls.
  • Heavy Work-Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds or force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
