Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Test Engineering Manager to lead our efforts in establishing and scaling a QA team specifically for our new healthcare vertical. In this role, you will be responsible for building a specialized team to ensure the quality and compliance of our healthcare solutions, which demand rigorous testing and adherence to both industry standards and client requirements. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a new initiative and contribute to the success of a vital, high-growth business unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Building:
    • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of high-performing test engineers, test engineers, and associate test engineers to support the healthcare vertical.
    • Create a culture of excellence, encouraging innovative testing approaches, collaboration, and continuous learning.
    • Manage the day-to-day activities of the test engineering team, ensuring that project priorities are met and resources are effectively allocated.
  • Quality Assurance Strategy:
    • Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies tailored to the healthcare industry, ensuring coverage of compliance, data security, and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and healthcare stakeholders to ensure testing activities align with business goals and healthcare standards.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for healthcare testing, staying up-to-date with industry regulations and compliance needs.
  • Client-Facing Responsibilities:
    • Act as a key point of contact for clients in the healthcare vertical on all QA and testing-related matters, including test strategies, test status, and issue resolutions.
    • Ensure smooth communication and management of client expectations, demonstrating clear, articulate, and concise verbal and written communication.
    • Proactively engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver exceptional service.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Establish and enforce standards and best practices for test engineering, including automation, performance, security, and compliance testing.
    • Implement and track KPIs related to testing effectiveness, efficiency, and defect detection, presenting these insights to both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure timely identification, tracking, and resolution of defects, coordinating with development and operations teams to minimize impact on project timelines.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to streamline testing processes and leverage new tools and technologies.
    • Advocate for the adoption of automation, CI/CD practices, and other innovations to enhance testing speed and reliability.

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Proven experience developing and implementing test strategies for complex systems, with a focus on compliance and security.
  • Knowledge of common testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Project & Client Management:
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work with clients to define testable requirements and develop appropriate acceptance criteria.
  • Track record of leading QA projects in a client-facing capacity.
  • Tools & Systems:
  • Experience with testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and project management tools like Jira.
  • Understanding of querying languages (SQL) to interact with application data layers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience setting up and scaling QA teams for new verticals, particularly within healthcare or similarly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of healthcare standards and regulations such as HIPAA, and experience ensuring compliance in software testing.
  • Background in cloud computing (preferably AWS) and performance monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, Dynatrace, or Splunk).
  • Familiarity with code repositories and version control systems like GitHub.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in test engineering or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience leading technical teams in a global environment is preferred.
