Job Summary:

As an Asset Protection Specialist at Giant Food, you will play a critical role in protecting our company's retail store assets by investigating the loss of assets, including merchandise, money, and property. This role is responsible for preventing loss and shrink within assigned stores through monitoring, investigating, surveillance, and other Loss Prevention tactics, including apprehending shoplifters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve internal and external theft incidents.
  • Serve as the primary contact for any safety and security issues for stores in your area of responsibility.
  • Conduct daily store tours to identify deficiencies and execute corrective action as necessary.
  • Maintain awareness of high-risk areas to reduce/control merchandise losses.
  • Review shrink best practices and execute shrink reduction strategy drivers on store visits.
  • Review shrink reports and assist in reacting to issues and opportunities seen in assigned stores.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Driver's License and transportation required for travel to multiple stores in a District and/or Region
  • Up to one year of related experience
  • Knowledge of criminal laws applicable to various state and local jurisdictions
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all investigation-related information
  • Basic skills in MS Office
