Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in the relevant field along with a minimum of two (2) years of pertinent occupational experience, or
  • An Associate degree in the relevant field accompanied by three (3) years of occupational experience and proficiency in the teaching discipline with verifiable academic credentials, qualifications, or competencies suitable for instructing the course content*, or
  • A relevant Diploma or certificate in the field and four (4) years of occupational experience and expertise in the teaching discipline with verifiable academic credentials, qualifications, or competencies appropriate for teaching the course content*, or
  • A minimum of five (5) years of occupational experience and expertise in the teaching discipline with verifiable qualifications or competencies suitable for teaching the course content*.

*All academic coursework, work experience, licenses, certifications, credentials, competencies, or other relevant experiences appropriate for teaching the course content must be documented and justified.

**Instructors must also demonstrate consistent progress towards obtaining an associate degree to be eligible for continued employment. Consistent progress is defined as the successful completion of at least one college course per semester, including summer sessions, or nine credits per academic year.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Preferred teaching experience in secondary and/or post-secondary education.
  • NCCER Craft Instructor Certification.
  • Familiarity with Canvas or other online course management systems.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Required Licenses or Certifications: Valid driver's license.
