Job Title: GIS Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Technician to join our team at Della Infotech. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing local GIS street data for inclusion into our statewide road network.

The GIS Technician will work closely with our Coastal Regional Commission GIS team to edit road centerlines and associated road characteristics. This will involve coordination with local governmental entities to obtain data and verify ownership of roads.

The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software suite and general GIS principles and concepts. They should be detail-oriented and highly skilled using the ArcGIS editing tools, and familiar with shapefiles, personal/file geodatabases, geodatabase topology, and editing in a SDE multi-user database.

The GIS Technician will be required to be on site for the initial two-week training and familiarization. Additional time may be required based on performance. Upon successful completion of training, this position will be eligible for telework status.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Editing road centerlines and associated road characteristics
  • Coordinating with local governmental entities to obtain data and verify ownership of roads
  • Working with the Coastal Regional Commission GIS team to prepare local GIS street data for inclusion into our statewide road network
  • Using ESRI ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software suite and general GIS principles and concepts

The GIS Technician will be required to have a four-year college degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field, and proficiency with the ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software suite. Preferred qualifications include experience with creating and editing GIS data, and GIS work experience with a city or county government agency.

Pay is commensurate with experience in transportation attribution related activities.
