Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Van Driver to join our team at the Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington. As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for providing exceptional transportation services to our guests, ensuring their safety and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers with a friendly and sincere welcome, providing a positive first impression of our hotel.
  • Remain calm and attentive during heavy hotel activity and emergencies, prioritizing guest safety and satisfaction.
  • Retrieve guest items from cars, buses, vans, and carts, efficiently managing luggage and packages.
  • Grasp, lift, carry, and/or load luggage and packages onto a bell cart to transport items throughout the hotel to designated rooms.
  • Navigate the bell cart through public areas, guest room corridors, and to elevators, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our guests.
  • Read and match luggage tags, write claim tickets, and detach portions to give to guests, maintaining accurate records and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Organize and store luggage as necessary in a designated area, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Drive guests to approved destinations in company vans and perform other driving errands as assigned, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Deliver gifts and amenities to guest rooms, providing a personalized touch and enhancing the guest experience.
  • Direct guest flow through the hotel, providing assistance and direction to various areas, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.
  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries, answering questions and offering assistance with accurate information.
  • Monitor company van maintenance requirements and communicate needs to management, ensuring the vehicle is always in good working condition.

Requirements:

  • Ability to understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions, ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally in English, providing clear and concise information to guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to read English language sufficiently to ascertain information from luggage tags and claim checks, writing numbers and names on claim checks and rooming lists.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, and/or carry or otherwise move packages and boxes and luggage up to 45 lbs continuously throughout the shift, maintaining a high level of physical stamina.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions, adapting to changing situations and priorities.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record, ensuring a safe and responsible driving experience for our guests.
