About the Position:
The Board of Directors of Duck River Electric Membership Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the cooperative as its next General Manager. As the chief executive officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the cooperative, ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the cooperative's goals and objectives
- Oversee the management of the cooperative's utility plant assets, including generation, transmission, and distribution systems
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to safety, environmental protection, and consumer protection
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the cooperative's members, employees, and stakeholders
- Manage the cooperative's financial resources, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the cooperative
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, finance, accounting, or engineering
- At least 10 years of experience in the electric utility industry, with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience at the senior management level
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and maintain a high-performing team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with members, employees, and stakeholders
- Knowledge of electric utility industry trends and technology, including smart grid systems and renewable energy sources
