Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Long Term Substitute Special Education Aide to join our team at Kingwood Elementary School. As a Substitute Special Education Aide, you will provide support to students with special needs, assisting with daily living skills, behavioral management, and academic instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with special needs in completing daily tasks and activities
- Provide behavioral support and interventions to promote positive student behavior
- Assist with academic instruction and support students in achieving their educational goals
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in special education or related field preferred
- Experience working with students with special needs; experience as a substitute teacher or aide a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
This is a long-term substitute position, working under the supervision of the school administration. The ideal candidate will be flexible, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
