Position Overview:

We are seeking skilled PowerBuilder developers with over 5 years of experience to modernize an essential software tool utilized in a critical application known as HiCAMS.

  • HiCAMS is a tailored client-server application built on PowerBuilder, designed for tracking operations, materials, and financial transactions.
  • Your initial responsibilities will include developing and testing data windows to replace more than 100 outdated spreadsheet formats previously created with a legacy software tool.
  • Subsequent tasks will involve debugging and implementing functional improvements to the existing system.
  • The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, unit and system testing, and quality assurance, along with experience in business process optimization.
  • Design and implement SharePoint and web-based solutions to enhance Preconstruction and Scoping business processes critical to the transportation lifecycle.
  • Essential Qualifications: (5+ years)Proficient in PowerBuilder development using PB10 or later versions.
  • Strong SQL capabilities (experience with Sybase is preferred, but proficiency in any SQL database is acceptable).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience in a remote software development setting.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, and technical abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with a self-driven work ethic.
  • Ability to work with a custom base-class.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate business processes to IT personnel and IT applications to business stakeholders.
  • Preferred Qualifications:Experience in C# and Java development.
  • Experience in coding stored procedures and triggers across various databases.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio development environment.
  • Experience in data migration and conversion.

Key Skills Required:

Proficient in PowerBuilder development using PB10 or later versions.

Strong SQL skills (experience with Sybase is preferred, but proficiency in any SQL database is acceptable).

Experience in a remote software development environment.
