We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic to join our team at Independence Excavating. As a Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy equipment, ensuring they are in top working condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with heavy equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and inspections
  • Conduct Tier 4 emissions diagnostics and repairs
  • Collaborate with project teams to prioritize repairs and ensure operational efficiency
  • Uphold company safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience or training in vehicle/construction equipment repair and maintenance
  • Proficiency in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Expertise in operating diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting hydraulic systems
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills, including acetylene and electric arc welding
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
