Job Overview

Position: Cardiac Stress Technician

The Cardiac Stress Technician will operate under the direct oversight of the site physician, executing a variety of professional and administrative tasks associated with cardiac stress evaluations. This role encompasses patient preparation, conducting both exercise and pharmacological stress assessments, and implementing Basic Life Support (BLS) measures when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts cardiac stress assessments (both nuclear and non-nuclear) under the guidance of the onsite registered nurse and physician.
  • Responsibilities include: preparing clinical charts; monitoring vital signs; performing and overseeing EKGs during stress evaluations; reviewing current medications, medical history, social history, and systems review.
  • Applies cardiac monitors and provides instructions to patients regarding their use.
  • Inputs data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Delivers patient education and information.
  • Engages in additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology/Science or a related field OR successful completion of a Cardiac Technician training program.
  • Proficient in 12-lead ECG interpretation.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with computer systems; prior experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably in cardiology.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient care.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and healthcare providers.
