Job Title: Medical Assistant Orthopedics

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Orthopedic team at Intermountain Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality services.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks, including:

  • Preparing patients for examinations and procedures
  • Assisting healthcare professionals with patient care
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Coordinating appointments and scheduling
  • Providing excellent customer service to patients and families
Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Perform basic clerical and office duties, including assembling documents and supplies, and effectively using computer applications
  • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor appointments, inpatient and outpatient admissions, tests, treatments, and procedures
  • Maintain medical records and other information, and inventory of supplies
  • Accurately document patient history, physical, and vital information into the medical record
  • Perform business and financial duties, including assigning procedural and diagnostic coding to encounter forms, conducting pre-authorizations and referrals, and facilitating timely billing
  • Perform clinical functions within acceptable standards of care, including prioritizing patient needs, recognizing and responding to emergency situations, and preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Medical Assistant Resident or Medical Assistant certification
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or current RN/LPN license
