Job Summary

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/Vascular Medical Sonographer/Cardiac Medical Sonographer/Phlebology Sonographer provides patient care services performing primarily diagnostic ultrasound examinations. The sonographer functions as a delegate and agent of the healthcare team's practitioners, responsible for obtaining and communicating pertinent health history and quality/reproducible exam information to the managing medical provider.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining patient comfort, safety, and care while obtaining quality diagnostic images
  • Customizing examination protocols based on patient status
  • Accurately identifying and communicating critical test results to supervising providers
  • Maintaining properly functioning ultrasound equipment and workspace
  • Assuring patient record storage and cleanliness and sanitation of ultrasound machines/transducers, work areas, and patient beds
Requirements
  • National certification from ARDMS or CCI
  • Licensure by state (when applicable)
  • Maintenance of CME standards as required by ultrasound accreditation bodies
  • BLS required
  • Maintenance of high patient privacy standards and adherence to HIPAA guidelines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience relevant to CiCC's scope of practice
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Pay Scale: $53.00 hourly
